Kenarp Custom Typeface

Role: Typeface Designer

Kenarp is an original typeface I designed for a project at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. While taking a typography design class we were tasked with designing a typeface based off of a professor. Our challenge was to imitate our muse into letterforms. This project received an Honorable Mention in the Graphis New Talent Awards 2024, highlighting its excellence in type design.

The development of Kenarp began with extensive research into contemporary typographic trends and historical letterforms. I aimed to create a typeface that balances modern aesthetics with classical influences, resulting in a versatile and unique design. Through iterative sketching and digital refinement, I focused on crafting letterforms that are both functional and visually engaging.
